Further Info

I am a field geologist interested in Earth System change in Deep Time. My work combines geological ground truthing with geochronology and isotope chemostratigraphy to construct stratigraphic frameworks and document the geodynamical development of sedimentary basins. Field areas are the SW USA, southern Africa, the Abyssinian Highlands of Ethiopia, northern Europe and NW Russia and my research includes the Great Oxidation Event, Neoproterozoic Earth History, the geological evolution of the Death Valley region, and the record of Late Phanerozoic climate change as archived in the geology of Lake Tana.

My research interests are in reconstructing Earth history during hallmark periods of Earth System change. I combine field geology with geochemistry and isotope geochemistry to gain insights into and deeper understanding of past natural processes.
